About Savitribai Phule Pune University
Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune), one of the premier universities in India, located in Pune city in the state of Maharashtra, has recently celebrated 75 years of its existence and academic excellence. The university houses 46 academic departments, has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses. The university is re-accredited by NAAC with A+ level and is recognized as a university with potential for excellence by UGC, India. It is also DST-PURSE sponsored university. The University is well known for its high-quality taught courses as well as cutting edge research in frontier areas of pure and applied sciences, as also humanities and social sciences, management, and other disciplines.
About Bioinformatics Centre
Bioinformatics Centre at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) (formerly University of Pune), Pune, established in 1987, is one of the pioneering institutions engaged in cutting edge research in the areas of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology as well as human resource development through its taught masters’ and Ph.D. programmes. It is recognized as a Centre of Excellence by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) Government of India (GoI) (2002 – onwards) and by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), GoI (2008-13). The faculty at Bioinformatics Centre, SPPU are engaged in development of databases, algorithms and webservers in various areas of Bioinformatics. Further, the faculty also apply computational techniques to biological data in order to discover new knowledge in areas such as Structural Bioinformatics, Virus Bioinformatics, Genomics, Proteomics, Chemoinformatics, Molecular modelling and Simulations, Immunoinformatics, Phyloinformatics, etc.
About the Conference
Research and development in various areas of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology is taking place at an unprecedented pace. In the current era, large-scale technological developments, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, have expanded the horizons of research and development in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. This conference is being organized to facilitate discussion on the latest developments in this field. The conference includes Key-note address, talks from eminent scientists from academia as well as industry, and poster presentations. The conference provides a platform for interactions among research leaders, scientists and students as well as facilitate establishment of new collaborations.

Call for Abstracts
You are welcome to present a poster in the conference. Participants desirous of presenting a poster must submit abstract conveying outcome of original research carried out by them in any area of Bioinformatics / Computational Biology. Please note that the abstract should be approved by all the persons contributing to the work being presented and with the consent of your supervisor / group leader / lead scientist. A panel of experts would adjudicate the posters presented during the conference. Attractive prizes would be awarded to deserving participants.
Abstract specifications:
Title: Maximum 150 characters with Scientific names of organisms in italics
Names of Authors: Name of the Presenting author to be underlined and the corresponding author to be indicated with an asterisk superscript (*). Indicate the e-mail ID of the presenting author as well as corresponding author in separate lines and center justify the same.
Authors’ affiliation: Affiliation of all the authors be mentioned. If any of the authors have multiple affiliations, they should be numbered with superscripts. Official address with contact details of the corresponding author be given.

ACCOMMODATION
Limited Guest House accommodation is available on the university campus.
Outstation participants requiring “Guest House” accommodation need to fill up the corresponding section in the conference registration form.
Guest House accommodation (Non AC rooms) would be provided to outstation participants on first-come-first-served basis.
Participants have to pay the accommodation charges (Room rent), directly at the “Guest House” reception during check-in. Room rent for a Non AC Room ranges between INR 600 – INR 1500/- plus GST per day.
A few hotels are also located within a 5-7 km radius of the conference venue. They include the following:
